These days, a large proportion of the population is reaping the benefits that a dishwasher can provide in terms of time, effort, performance and cost. Modern dishwashers are effective, easy to use and give better results than washing dishes by hand. Dishwashers are also more hygienic because they wash at a higher temperature than you can by hand and they don't rely on dirty dishtowels to dry pots. Dishwashers are also cheaper to run as they use less water and detergent than washing by hand.
But to get the best from a dishwasher, you need to use them correctly and use the best products. The three products that are needed by ALL dishwashers in the UK are:
• Granular salt - which is added to replenish the machine’s built-in water softener, which will help to ensure the dishwasher always performs at its peak and gives you the best results
• Detergent - to dissolve food residue and grease and to trap them in the water
• Rinse-aid - to ensure the rinsing water slides off dishes and glasses and leaves them sparkling with no streak marks.
• Cleaner / Descaler - It may also be necessary to occasionally descale your dishwasher. You can do this by using an AquaSoftna washing machine descaler tablet
PLEASE NOTE. Some dishwasher products claim to offer a "3-in-1" cleaning action, sometimes including salt action. It pays to check the packaging carefully as, sometimes this triple action does not necessarily include rinse aid. Where a product claims to have a "Salt Action", this is NOT a substitute for adding granular salt to the dishwasher reservoir. Salt Action detergents will not actually replenish the machine’s water softener.
