Cleaning Tips for the Kitchen

Fruit and vegetables

For tender vegetables and pulses that retain their colour, simply add a couple of Soda Crystals to soaking and cooking water. To steam fruit, a pinch of Soda Crystals added to the water prevents apples from going brown. NB. Do not use in Aluminium pans. Bicarbonate of Soda is a safe way to clean dirt and residue off fresh fruit and vegetables. Just sprinkle a little on a CLEAN damp sponge, scrub and rinse.
