Cleaning Tips for the Kitchen
Coffee Machines
To clean your coffee machine, remove the filter and add two tablespoons of Citric Acid to a full machine of cold water. Switch on the machine and let half of the Citric Acid solution filter through the coffee machine, before switching off. This gives the Citric Acid time to work on all parts of the machine. After leaving for 20-30 mins, switch the machine back on and let the rest of the solution run through the machine. Run the machine twice with clean water to remove any traces of Citric Acid, and enjoy your next cup of coffee! Depending on the hardness of your water and how often your machine is used, this method should be used every 2-4 weeks to ensure your coffee tastes flawless.
Citric Acid is a great natural descaler and cleaner from plant based origins. As well as cleaning the old coffee off the inside of the machine, Citric Acid also dissolves limescale that can damage the heating elements of the machine and lowers the power consumption of the machine, meaning regular cleaning with Citric Acid could prolong the life of your coffee machine.
